Olivia Jones on PennLive’s midseason Mid-Penn girls basketball all-star team

Having reached the midway point of the high school girls basketball season, PennLive has listed which Mid-Penn Conference standouts would be its starting 5 if the season ended today. Olivia Jones School: Cedar Cliff Class: Freshman Height: 5-10 Position: Guard Bio: You don’t manage to snap off 14 straight victories to open a season without sound leadership and experience. Coach Scott Weyant has it, but Jones has stepped right into the starting 5 and offered that something extra. The freshman has provided points (13.9 ppg.) when needed and provided pressure up and down court. Jones is near the top of the conference in rebounding with 125 and dished our 53 assists during that clean run....

PennLive’s girls basketball Fab 5: Undefeated Cedar Cliff remains in top spot (Jan 17)

1. Cedar Cliff (14-0) Buzz: It’s been a simple formula for the Colts. Win every time out and then no other franchise can claim the top spot. Our initial No. 1 validated its position with a 4-0 week, one that included a nice 49-36 victory over Wilson and two more Mid-Penn Keystone checks vs. Palmyra and Mechanicsburg. Scott Weyant’s versatile and savvy group currently sits fourth overall in the District 3 6A pecking order and is the last remaining unbeaten in that class. Wednesday’s clash with Mifflin County, the Keystone squad currently running second to the Colts, could really clear the path to a division title. Previous: 1 2. Cumberland Valley (11-2) | Previous: 2 3. Big Spring (10-1) |...

And, the Colts are perched nicely atop the Keystone Division standings. The most challenging week so far is coming, though, with throwdowns vs. Wilson, Mechanicsburg and Central Dauphin in the next seven days. 2. Cumberland Valley (9-1) 3. Central Dauphin (8-1) 4. PennLive – Kathryn Sansom and Olivia Jones on list of underclassmen to keep an eye on

PennLive has created a list of some Mid-Penn underclassmen to keep an eye on as they look to contribute for their programs.  Cedar Cliff's Kathryn Sansom (sophomore) and Olivia Jones (freshmen) made the list of girls they think could be on-the-radar throughout this season. Olivia Jones Position: Forward/Guard Class: Freshman Buzz: The only freshman prospect on this list, Olivia Jones has the potential to be the next big thing out of the Mid-Penn. The 5-foot-10 freshman forward has one of the smoothest skillsets among underclassmen with her inside-out play. After a strong summer playing up on a 17U Philadelphia Belles team as an eight grader, Jones has gained first hand experience of how...
